Having joined the team during the fall of 2007, it is amazing that in only two short years we have grown from twenty members to nearly eighty, and have continued to develop a uniquely fun, friendly, and welcoming environment for training, racing, and social events. Last year in particular, our team participated in community service for the first time, and successfully hosted the first ever Bruin 5K and UCLA Triathlon awards banquet, all while placing second to UC Berkeley, the national champions, in the WCCTC conference team standings. I only hope the team continues to grow, and for next year, we set our sights on first!

A lot of our success can largely be credited to the commitment and leadership of last yearís graduating officers and team members. In particular, I would like to thank our former webmaster Sam Luckenbill for creating our outstanding website, and president David Quiros for his unmatched dedication in guiding our team to arguably its most successful year yet. Ask anyone and theyíll tell you joining UCLA Triathlon was the single greatest decision they have made during their stay at UCLA. As president I hope to keep this tradition alive, and cannot begin to express my excitement for another absolutely awesome year ahead!
