Highly qualified from advanced fitness and coaching skills to holistic therapies, sports psychology and nutrition, Gareth brings a tremendous wealth of knowledge and expertise to his clients. As an Ironman Triathlete and former member of Team Great Britain at the World Long Distance Championships, Gareth has a personal understanding of what it takes to perform. He couples this with a highly technical understanding of the science and practicalities of training. MARCUS GEORGE - UCLA Triathlon Team Assistant Coach

Marcus GeorgeMarcus founded the UCLA Triathlon Team with a couple friends in 2001 and served as its president until 2006, when he graduated with his Masters in Aerospace Engineering. He also founded the UCLA IronBruin Triathlon, a sprint-distance race currently in its 4th year. Marcus has been one of the leading forces in the growth and development of the sport at the collegiate level. Marcus is a founder of the West Coast Collegiate Triathlon Conference (WCCTC), which, at the time, was the first collegiate triathlon conference in the nation. As collegiate triathlon has continued to grow, the WCCTC has become a model for the emerging national conference system. Marcus currently works with the sport’s governing body as the Western Region Collegiate Representative and is responsible for growth and development of the sport in California, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska. Marcus has been involved in endurance sports all his life. In high school he was a multi-time provincial champion in the 1500m and 3000m running events, placing 4th in the Canadian National Championships in the 3000m. Marcus became involved in triathlon while attending college at UCLA. He is a multi-time Canadian National Championship podium finisher in his age group and competed with the Canadian National Team at the ITU Age Group World Championships in Hawaii. He also competes as a Cat. 2 cyclist. In the future he hopes to complete an Ironman-distance triathlon and qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Marcus currently works as a Satellite Control Analysis Engineer at The Aerospace Corporation and lives in Manhattan Beach, CA.

 

JULIA VOITOVITSCH - UCLA Triathlon Team Assistant Coach

Julia VoitovitschJulia Voitovitsch Coach Julia was born in Kiev, Ukraine and raised mainly in Frankfurt, Germany. From 1993-2000, Julia competed as a member of the German national swim team, participating in many national and international competitions including the 1996 Atlanta Olympics where she swam the 100m butterfly. From 1998-2001, Julia was a scholarship athlete for the UCLA Women's Swimming Team where she won numerous races and set several team records.

Julia was the butterfly swimmer for the German world record setting 200 medley relay in 1996, and held the German national record in the 100 m butterfly. Currently Julia holds the UCLA Masters swim records in the 25-29 age group for the 50, 100, & 200 fly, and the 100, & 200 IM in short course meters, and also the 50, 100 fly, and 100 IM in short course yards.

After graduating from UCLA Julia worked for Nestle Russia before returning back to the United States. Julia currently coaches the UCLA Masters Swim Club and is head age group coach of the UCLA Bruin Kids Swim Club. In her free time Julia enjoys attending the Opera and LA Philharmonic Symphony concerts.
